Planning for Wildfire Smoke, Damp Air and Ice Storms in Oregon
- Wildfire smoke. The air compressor and oxygen concentrator draw in room air. During smoke events, keep windows closed and check and clean their intake filters more often.
- Damp climate west of the Cascades. In Portland, the Willamette Valley, and on the coast, keep the chamber and equipment in a dry, climate-controlled room rather than a garage or basement that stays damp.
- Central Oregon elevation and winters. Soft chambers pressurize to a set amount above outside air, so at Bend's elevation they reach a lower total pressure than at sea level. Ask us how a specific model performs at your elevation, and keep the system in a heated room through the winter.
- Ice storms and outages. Winter ice storms can knock out power. Use a surge protector for the compressor and concentrator.
Soft and Hard Hyperbaric Chambers
For home buyers, chamber selection depends on available space, preferred position, pressure, accessibility, and budget. Bradshaw Oxygen offers lay-down, seated, reclining, and wheelchair-accessible options, including soft chambers at 1.3 ATA and 1.5 ATA and hard-shell systems up to 2.0 ATA.
